The Givo by ARRA International of the Philippines has the distinction of being the smallest telescoping mechanical mod ever created. It's also hands down one of the most beautiful. If you're a fan of exquisite, intricate engraving, you won't be able to take your eyes off the Givo. The plethora of Hawaiian-inspired engravings on the bottom tube, switch, locking ring, and top cap are stunning to say the least. The clean line of the highly polished upper tube, broken only by dual grooves at both ends, helps to showcase the engravings. Overall, the Givo's opulent design and execution give the impression of fine jewelry.
Crafted from 304 stainless steel with a brass reverse-threaded locking ring, the Givo is a two-piece device that telescopes to accommodate 18650, 18500 and 18350 batteries. The floating 510 pin and surrounding Delrin insert are removable, but the "top cap" and upper tube are uniquely a single piece. All contacts are silver-plated copper to maximize conductivity. The fit, finish and build quality are exceptional and the threading on the tubes and locking ring are as smooth as silk. The switch has a super short throw and will not auto-fire when the Givo is placed on a flat surface. The firing button is engraved with the company logo and serial number.
It should be mentioned that there is one potential drawback. If you regularly use 18350 batteries like Todd in the video review below, exchanging them will take some time out of your day. Let me explain. One advantage of the Givo's design is its minuscule voltage drop which is facilitated by the unthreaded top cap and switch. The 510 connection and upper tube are one piece and the switch is detached by removing a screw located on the inside of the bottom tube. The disadvantage is that the very finely threaded upper and lower tubes must be unscrewed in order to exchange the battery. This is not a problem if you use 18650 batteries, but it is rather time-consuming if you use 18350 batteries. Fortunately, most vapers have moved away from those tiny batteries due to their low power and capacity. Still, it would be fun to occasionally run the Givo in 18350 mode so you can marvel at the incredibly small size of your setup.
Some vapers prefer modular over telescopic mechanical mods because they don't like the way the latter look when extended. The opposite is true of the Givo because the hidden treasure of engravings on the bottom tube become visible only as you extend the mod. The Givo will delight any vaper who wants a mechanical mod that combines unsurpassed beauty and build quality with outstanding performance.
